ashamed Vs. shameful
• 都是shame的形容词 • shameful可以直接用来形容“可耻的” 行为或人. • ashamed 是“主观感觉到”的惭愧或 羞耻。 e.g. She is deeply ashamed of her shameful behavior in public.

include vt. 包括,包含 including prep. 包括,包含 included adj. 包含在内的

e.g. Death put an end to his suffering.

contain Vs. include 包含
• contain: 强调包含的“内容”, 可以是有形 的或无形的, 可用于表示包含所含之物的全 部或部分; • include: 强调包含之物是整体的一部分, 只能用于表示所包含之物中的一部分。 • e.g. The parcel contained a dictionary. • 包裹里装的是一本字典。(字典是全 部或部分之物) • The parcel included a dictionary. • 包裹里也包括了一本字典。(字典是 部分之物)
•e.g. This atlas (地图集) contains 40 maps, including 3 of the United States.
前一句指该地图册包括40张地图,是指一共40张;后一句是指这 个地图册中有3张是美国的,只是一部分而已。
include Vt. e.g. You are supposed to pay 20 yuan, including the postage.(前置)
d. to solve sth. 解决,处理 e.g. Don’t feel down. Things will work out eventually. The two governments will work out the dispute. e. to (cause to) have a good result 计划,制定出 e.g. He has worked out all the details of the plan.
suffer 经受,使遭受(坏事,不愉快的事), 其宾语一般是loss, pain, punishment, defeat, wrong, hardship, grief, discouragement, disappointment等。 e.g. 他们在经济危机中遭受巨大损失。 They suffered huge losses in the financial crisis.

4. recover Vt. / Vi.
a. Vt. to get back (sth. lost or taken away) 找回 e.g. The police recovered the stolen jewels. b. to return to the usual state of health, strength, ability, etc.恢复 recover from … recover oneself 恢复常态 e.g. He has recovered from his bad cold and can go to school tomorrow. He almost fell down, but he quickly recovered himself.
shame n./ Vt. 羞耻, 可惜/you! It’s a shame! = It’s a pity His rude behavior shamed his parents. shameful adj. to cause the feeling of shame
7. treatment n.
a. [U/C] sth. that is done to cure an illness 治疗 e.g. She is still under treatment in hospital. a treatment for skin disease b. [U] a way of behaving towards a person or thing 待遇 e.g. I don’t want special treatment. c. [U/C] a way of dealing with sth. 处理方式 e.g. Recycling is an effective treatment to waste. sth.)

8. suffer Vi./Vt. 吃苦,受难
e.g. If you don’t work hard, you shall suffer in the future. suffer pain/loss/defeat…
Vi. a. (~ at/on sth.) to do an activity which uses effort esp. as employment (从事,劳动,干活)
work at/on my assignment work for sb/sth. 受雇于 work as…从事某工作
b. (of a plan,machine or moving part) to be active in the proper way, without failing (起作用,奏效;顺利进行,运转)
e.g. Your idea won’t work in practice. The clock hasn’t been working since the electricity was off.
