在美国军用编号中，PT6的相应型号分别被命名为T74和T101。

与首台在1963年面世的450SHP轴马力的PT6A发动机相比，如今PT6发动机系列的功率增加了四倍，功重比提高了40%，燃油消耗率降低了20%。
