In Devon at the outbreak of World War I, Joey, is sold to the cavalry and shipped to France. He serves in the British and German armies, which takes him on an extraordinary odyssey, serving on both sides before being alone in No Man's Land. But Albert cannot forget Joey, and, still not old enough to enlist in the army, he embarks on a dangerous mission to find and bring Joey home.
So Albert started to train him. Because he treat him as his best friend and put all his time and heart on him ,finally little horse was moved by Albert and ploughed the land successfully. At last they built a very close and intimate relationship between each other and the boy give the horse a name :Joey
He has won three Academy Awards (including an Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award). He has been nominated for six Academy Awards for Best Director, winning two of them (Schindler's List and Saving Private Ryan), and seven of the films he directed were up for the Best Picture Oscar
At the end of the movie, Albert and Joey met each other again at the resting region of the war. Albert finally found Joey at last.
