UV是英文Ultraviolet Rays的缩写,即紫外光线.紫外线(UV)是肉眼看不见的,是可见紫色光以外的一段电磁辐射,波长在10~400nm的范围.通常按其性质的不同又细为几下几段:
真空紫外线（Vacuum UV）：10--200nm
短波紫外线（UV-C）：200--290nm
中波紫外线（UV-B）：290--320nm
长波紫外线（UV-A）：320--400nm
