广告宣传的利与弊辩论赛

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen:
Our side believe that “Advertisement is bad”. Following are our opinions to support this argument.
First of all, advertisements set bad example for people. For instance, those stars with oval faces, white skin and slim figures are more easily chosen as the spokesmen, which misleads to a situation that only with such appearance can a girl be appreaciated as “beauty”.As a result, an increasing number of women decide to lose weight through improper ways or turn to plastic surgery for help. Thus the inner beauty is being ignored and the whole society tend to pay attention to women’s appearance, which goes against the nature development.
Second, false information floods the advertisements. Advertisers is clever at putting gorgeous and brilliant images by photoshop on their ads in order to catch the consumers’ eyes. However, the entities are usualy far different from what they show us. Take instant noodles for example, we can see various ingredients on the surface of the packing bags, seafood, meat, vegetables etc.. Whereas inside there’s only dehydrated ingredients. This to some extent amounts to playing fool with buyers. Because they buy the products out of the ads, but the real ones leave much to be desired.
Thirdly, the increasing money paid in ads surely leads to the increasing of the price. We know that casio timer is becoming more and more popolar in China due to the large number of ads. Of course the large number of ads requires large amount of money, and the money is spontaneously taken from we consumers. Amazingly, casio timer is only sold 2,000 yuan in Japan, its original country but almost 8,000 yuan in China. Furthermore, the quality of products will decreases. Cheng Long, the spokesman of the shampoo with anti-king, gains a lot money from the company, however, the producer has to put less money on the shampoo. Thus the shampoo doesn’t really help consumers with t heir hair problem.
Last but not least, too much advertisements cause waste. Most advertisers choose to print leaflets and hand out them to broadcast their products. Consequently, the leaflets are everywhere in the streets, not only destroying the appearances of cities, but also wasting the paper resources. Apart from that, the properties and clothes used in the ads are almost one-off, for they are out of use after the ad shoot.
According to what I mentioned above, we strongly believe that “Advertisement is bad”. That’s all. Thank you!。
