A Busy Morning (M1:现在进行时、一般现在时)Everyone may have a relaxing Sunday. They may get up late, go shopping with friends or go to the movie theatres. But our family usually stay at home and have a busy morning.Look! My father is reading a newspaper on the sofa. He likes reading a lot. When he gets something interesting in the newspaper, he will read for us to make us laugh (使我们笑). My mother is cooking in the kitchen. To tell you the truth (说句实话), Spring Festival -- my favourite festival is coming. Spring Festival is the most important festival in China .It’s to celebrate the lunar (农历) new year. There is an an imal’s name for each year. The name of my birth year is the monkey. Before spring Festival, people in China are busy getting ready for it, they clean the house and do a lot of shopping. New Year’s Eve is the evening before Spring Festival, families get together and have a big meal. In many places people like to play fireworks. Dumplings are the most traditional food. Children like the festival very much ,because they can have delicious food, wear new clothes. They can also get some money in red bags from their parents. It can bring them good luck . Spring Festival lasts about 15 days long. People visit families and friends with the words “Have all your wishes (万事如意)”.We’re always busy all the year round. I can see many different places on the train, and I also can do my favourite things or do nothing but just thinking with a book in my hand. The fares of the ferries are low. The most famous ferry in the world is the Star Ferry in Hong Kong. If (如果) you are not in a hurry, it will be good for you to relax. Forshort distances, it’s the best way to travel by bus. You can buy a ticket at the bus stop, and get off at your stop.These four ways are very popular. Now more and more people buy cars and they make the air dirty (污染空气). As for me (对于我), I also like riding bicycles. It’s cheap, and it can keep the air clean and help people stay healthy.My Favourite Teacher (M8:一般过去时)My favourite teacher is my English teacher, Miss Zhang Hong. She is new in our school, but she teaches us very well. Everyone in our class enjoys her lessons. Miss Zhang was born in Jinhua, a small city in the middle of Zhejiang Province. So Jinhua is her hometown, and it’s a beautiful city with many tall buildings and trees. Miss Zhang was born on 15th June, 1982. The name of her first school was Huangcheng Primary School. It is a famous school in Jinhua. She worked hard at school and did well in all her lessons. She was friendly and polite (有礼貌的), so all her teachers and classmates loved her. They liked to make friends with her. Her first English teacher was Mrs Morrison. She was from England, so she spoke English very well. She was not very young and she was strict with her pupils but friend ly to them. Miss Zhang’s first friends were Kevin and John. John was naughty, but Kevin was well-behaved. And they were both clever and pretty. They often played games after class at that time. After she left university (大学毕业), she came to our school. She said, “It’s my dream school.” She decided to be a popular teacher, and be friends with all his pupils.Past life is a kind of treasure for everyone. We can put it in our heart, and sometimes share (分享) it with your friends.Three Monks and Water (M9: 一般过去时)Once upon a time, there was a hill. On the hill, there was a temple. In the temple, there was a little monk. Every early morning, he got up and climbed down to carry water. It was hard work, but he lived happily with himself.One day, there came another monk. It was a fat monk. He asked for stay, because the temple was a good place to live in. Then when they were thirsty, they went down to carry water together. The job was still hard, but they did it without words.A few days later, there came a third monk. It was a tall monk. At first, the little monk and the fat monk were glad. They thought the tall monk would do the heavy work because he was new. But when they finished the water, no one would like to carry water. They talked fro a long time, but th ey didn’t have a good idea and got angry (生气). Finally, they just sat back to back on the ground.It was a very old story. From the story, we learn that we must help each other.The life of my parents (M10: 一般过去时)I live in a sweet family. My parents lo ve me and I love them, too. I think our family is one of the best families in the worldThe life of Charlie Chaplin (M11: 一般过去时)Charlie Chaplin is one of the most famous comedy (喜剧) actors in the world. He acted lots of comedies and brought us lots of laugh.Charlie’s father was also an actor and his mother was a good dancer. He was born in a poor family in London in 1889. He didn’t get much education. He started dancing and singing for money when he was only five years old. His father died when he was six, and then her mother was ill. So he had to make a living by himself (独自谋生). At the age of 15, he joined a theater company and went to America. He decided to be an actor and his dream came true. In 1910, he acted in a film for the first time and went to Holleywood at 21. He made a great success in the USA, because many people enjoyed his films.
