Dear President Stephen Smith,
I am pleased to extend the official invitation to the group of ten members
from University of Western Australia headed by Vice President Gary
Johnson (name list attached below) to come to Kunming, China, for a
ten-day academic visit from Oct. 1st, 2008 to Oct. 10th 2008.
The purpose of the visit is to conduct academic exchanges with
institutions of higher education in Kunming. During their visit, the group is to attend two seminars hosted by the Commission of Higher Education of Yunnan Province, visit some of the universities in Kunming, talk over
exchange academic programs and have academic discussions with the faculty members. We also arrange for them to visit some places with rich ethnic cultures.
●The international travel from Australia to Kunming will be the responsibility
of University of Western Australia. Yunnan University of Finance and
Economics will pay for the local expenses in Yunnan (including
accommodation, food, local transportation and other visiting fees).
●We sincerely believe the visit of the group in Kunming will be successful and
fruitful and will help promote the friendship between the peoples of the two countries.
