A Book Report of Jane Eyre
Jane Eyre is a classical romance novel by Charlotte Bronte which was published in 1847. This book is written mostly according to the author's own experience---in reality , less fiction than autobiography! The theme of this book is human value is equal to dignity of human personality add love.
In this book the author create a character called Jane Eyre. Although she is small, pain, poor and also abandoned by her relatives, she is a girl with strong and pour soul and sprit. When she is left to an orphanage she has a hard time. Even though she is kept under the harrow, she steels her will. Then she is engaged as a tutor. At first life is very quiet with Jane teaching a young French girl Adele, and spending time with the old housekeeper. But everything changes when the owner of the manor Edward Rochester arrives. Jane and Edward gradually become acquaint with and grow to respect each other and then fall in love with each other. Of course at last they get married but you can image how rough road they have walk to their life road.
I like Jane, she is a girl without beautiful appearance, short stature, poor family, but has a lofty heart. I still remember her words:"Am I a machine without feelings? Do you think that because I am poor, obscure, plain and little that I am soulless and heartless? I have as
much soul as you and full as much heart. And if God had blessed me with beauty and wealth I could make it as hard for you to leave me as it is for men to leave you. I'm not speaking to you through mortal flesh. It is my spirit as if we'd passed though the grave and stood at God's feet, equal as we are."Yes, equal we are! We are all the same, please believe that for everything there is a season, you have your rights to enjoy your life and seek your happiness. From these sentences you can see what qualities does Jane have, and these classical word also courage hundreds or thousands people to struggle for their lives.
One point I must to mention Jane also has rebellious spirit. She lays aside the old practices and prejudices, in her mind her love is pour without money or position. At the end of the book the fire cripples Edward for life but Jane does not leave him, when she hears this news she goes to see him and decide to look after him without hesitation. She gives up everything for love.
The author writes this book to stress the equal rights that a person can not make fish of one and flesh of the other. At the same time she surely urges us to put away our passé prejudices and treat boys and girls equally.
At last I want to say when I read the book Jane Eyre it just like a glass of cold drinking water which can sublimate my spirit. So the
book will encourage me study hard in pursuit of happy life.。
