这是“there be ”句型的一般过去时的形式。
其结构为：There was（were）…表示“有……”例句：There was a pen in the box. 昨天在盒子里有一支钢笔。

“lots of:” 表示“许多”，后跟可数名词，与many用法相同，后跟不可数名词，与much用法相同。
4. An old lady talked about her life many years ago.一位老太太谈论了她很多年前的生活。
talk about 意为“谈论”。
类似的固定短语搭配：talk to sb. 意为“和某人谈话”5. She didn’t have a television or a radio. 她没有电视机和收音机。
“didn’t=did not ”“did”是“do(does)”的过去式，是助动词。
表示过去时态的句子，动词要用过去式，变否定句时要加助动“did”.加上“did”后，实义动词要用原形。
