Letter of Inquiry
• 咨询信的主要目的是为了寻求所需的信息、 资料和情况等。写这类书信时应注意礼节， 特别要注意使用句式的选择，在询问问题 时切不可使用带有生硬或命令口吻的词句， 也不可把别人的帮助视为理所当然，要使 用“Would you please tell me…”之类的正 式疑问句式。考生还要注意只能就收信人 能够提供的信息进行提问。

• Directions: You are going to study at a foreign university. Write a letter inquiring about the specific information as regards accommodation, fees, living expenses and qualifications there. You don’t need to write the address. Don’t sign your own name at the end of the letter, use Li Hua instead.

具体步骤
• 主体段落：询问具体问题。可以问一些与 命题所设置的问题相关的内容，但这些问 题必须是与题目本身要求获取的信息是有 相关性的。考生也可以自己认为比较重要 的问题单独列一个段落，将其内容细化。 考生可以根据虚拟的自身情况提出相关的 问题。

Dear Sir or Madam, I am a Chinese student who wishes to pursue further study at your university. I plan to start my course next semester, and it would be highly appreciated if you would provide me with some essential information. First, how much are the tuition fees? Though I intend to be self--supporting, I would be interested to know if there are any scholarships available for international students. Second, I wonder what qualifications I need to follow a course at your university, now I soon will graduate from Senior high school, is it enough? Third, as regards to accommodations, if possible, I would like to have a single room, but if single rooms are expensive, I would be willing to share.
