状语从句可置主语之前，也可置主语之后。
前置时，从句后用逗号与主句分开；后置时，与主句之间无标点符号。
状语从句可分为时间、原因、目的、结果、条件、比较、地点、让步、方式等九类。
（二）中考考点设置1.时间状语从句引导词：when, while, as, before, after, as soon as, until,2.条件状语从句引导词：if, unless（除非）.注：主句为将来时，从句用一般现在时。
※while /when辨析（1.）when+终止性、延续性动词while+延续性动词When the teacher came in,I was sleeping.=While /When I was sleeping, the teacher came in.（2）. when (就在这时)I was sleeping, when someone knocked at the door.※if 和when双面孔用法辨析：状语从句和宾语从句区分when, if引导宾语从句和状语从句的不同: when引导时间状语从句意为“当……时候”, 引导宾语从句意为“什么时候”; if引导条件状语从句意为“如果”, 引导宾语从句意为“是否”。

(3)because 不能与so连用。
4.目的状语和结果状语从句(1)引导词：so that. (目的是)(2)引导词：so...that, such...that.（如此....以致于....）(3)so与such的区别①so+形+a/an+名----------------------------so beautiful a girl, so interesting a booksuch+a/an+形+名-------------------------such a beautiful girl, such an interesting book②so+many/much/few/little+形+名-------so many lovely monkeys③such+形+不可数名词/可数名词复----such strange things(4)so...that与too...to和...enough to间转换5.让步状语从句(1)引导词：though, even though.(2)though不能与but连用。
6.地点状语从句(1)引导词where, wherever.(2)wherever=no matter where7.比较状语从句(1)引导词：as...as, not as (so)...as, than(2)as...as, not as (so)...as中间用形容词或副词的原级。
