Henan is situated in the central part of China. It lies in the mid-lower reach of the Yellow River , with an area of 160 thousand square kilometers, and a population of nearly 100million. Henan is a major cradle（发源地） of Chinese culture 。It is a traditional agricultural province， a populous （人口众多的）province , a growing economy and an industry province.
Henan is one of the most important railway hubs(枢 纽 ) in China, with its capital Zhengzhou as the largest junction(交叉点) in China.Four trunk railway lines ,JINGGUANG line ,LONGHAI line,JINGJIU line and JIAOLIU line run across the province . Zhengzhou North Railway Station is the largest marshalling(编组) yard in Asia. Its capacity of handling freight is admirable, and its marshalling methods are of world level.
There are many tourists coming here for sightseeing every year.
河南烩面sed noodles is a characteristic food in Henan . It has a glorious history. Zhengzhou is known as “braises city”.When people from other places come to Zhengzhou,their first thought is to try the real mutton braises . Superior tender mutton and sheep bones boil together for five hours till they turn white . Then cook noodles with edible seaweed, bean curd strip, starch noodles, coriander, quail egg, squid and so on in it . Thus we get delicious and nutritious noodles.
烩面是河南特色美食， 有着悠久的历史，郑州 号称“烩面之城”，外 地人来到郑州，首先想 到的便是尝一尝地道的 羊肉烩面。烩面的汤用 上等嫩羊肉、羊骨一起 煮五个小时以上，直到 汤呈白色才会用来煮面， 煮面时辅料以海带丝、 豆腐丝、粉条、香菜、 鹌鹑蛋、海参、鱿鱼等， 美味又营养。
