Product DescriptionDescription of Model B3000 Series 3-Axis CNCSystem:The B3000 Ship Model Making Machine is a singlespindle gantry 3-Axis machine designed to machineand cut ship model profiles. The machine can beoperated both manually and by CNC and incorporateshigh speed spindles giving the following benefits:∙ Precise control;∙ Automatic machining and cutting;∙ Little or no hand working;∙ Good surface finish;∙ Faster manufacture of models;∙ Ability to transfer CAD co-ordinates direct from CADsystem to CNC control.The Machine as with all CNC machines requires acompetent experienced CNC machinist to operate itcorrectly and to maximize its capabilities.Although the machine and software are user friendly it will require a competent CAD/CAM operator to drive the proposed software to generate the required tool paths and CNC code.Rather than complicating the machine and its operation it is proposed that to cut detailed profile with undercuts such as bulbous bows and chine lines that the model is mounted and supported on the heavy duty T-slot table in the appropriate axis for cutting the required profile or surface.The Machine is more than capable of machining models of the required proportion from model blanks in both wood and plastic, however the wide the extended Y axis envelope. The machine will also offer the ability to cut 2 mould halves of ship models used for the lay-up GRP models. These types of models might also be more appropriate at the scale of models suggested.The machine, as well as a 3D operation can also be used in basic 2D cutting operation that might be used for the machining of the different layers used in the laying up of the rough model blanks.Please note – Only Basic operation and training are included within the Onsite training during installation and it is assumed this will be given to experienced machinist and CAD/CAM operators.
