W: Dad, I’m bored. Can I go to a movie today?
her parents’ room and down the dark staircase into the hall. She made her way towards the back door and opened it. Closing it quietly behind her, she moved silently across the garden and climbed over the low garden gate. For a few minutes, she stood at the gate and looked back at the sleeping house. Then she turned and walked quickly away to begin a new life.
W: She came down with a flu and had to stay home.

W: Wow, it sounds like you’ve had an interesting life. So, what do you do now?
M: I’m a student at Yale University.
W: Oh really? What are you studying?
W: Oh yeah? Where are some of the places you’ve lived?
M: Mostly, we were overseas. We spent a total of ten years in Korea, Germany and Japan. We were transferred back to the United States three years ago, but I think my parents would have liked to live overseas for at least 20 more years.
They made a series of short cartoons but lost all their money. Luckily, Walt’s brother Roy gave him more to start up again. The first talking picture came out in 1927 and Disney saw that sound held the key to the future of film.
M: A movie today? Well, I don’t know.
