高中英语戏剧教学课例研究----The Million Pound Bank Note一、背景描述:众所周知,新人教版教材的教学目标是在义务教育初中英语教学的基础上,使学生巩固,扩大基础知识,发展听,说读写的基本技能,培养综合语言运用能力,教材更突出英语的交际功能。
在教学教法上,要求英语学科更具有学术性、知识性、和趣味性,并能让学生用英语进行阅读和写作及解决生活中的实际问题。
其次,改革还体现在英语教材的编排,除遵循每一单元的四项基本技能的训练外,选材上注重内容的多样性及时效性,题材注重全面性,包括记叙文、议论文、说明文及戏剧等,其主旨就在于通过各种体裁文章的学习,从中掌握词汇,及语法现象,同时领略到不同体裁文章的篇章结构和写作方式。
作为人类文化的一个重要组成部分,戏剧也在高中英语教材中出现。
英语戏剧教学是高中英语教学的一个难点,也是整套教材中的一个亮点。
说它难,是因为这些戏剧多由英文原著改编,除了由于时代及地域的落差造成的晦涩难懂外,还有一些生僻词汇和拗口的人名及地名。
说它亮,是指如果戏剧课上得好,会给整个学期带来一次学英语的热潮。
二、教材分析《百万英镑》是高中英语必修阶段接触的第一个英语剧本,这是根据马克吐温著名的讽刺短篇小说《百万英镑》改编,作者用漫画的笔法勾勒了不同的人物在《百万英镑》面前的种种丑态,幽默滑稽,趣味横生,就如同一幅世态讽刺画,令人忍俊不禁;作者还无情地揭露了资本主义社会金钱至上的残酷现实,也透射出整个社会的悲凉。
教学本单元是不仅要启发学生了解故事的思想内涵,还要引导学生通过戏剧的情节发展,了解英语戏剧的特点和要素,如时间、地点、人物、戏剧冲突、戏剧语言等等。
同时还可以利用剧本的朗诵和表演帮助学生改进语音、语调。
三、学生分析本班学生为高一年级平行班学生,大部分学生的英语基础相对薄弱,特别是部分男同学对英语缺乏学习兴趣。
尽管他们的认知能力比初中阶段有了进一步的发展,但是由于英语单词量贫乏,并没有形成用英语获取信息、处理信息、分析问题和解决问题的能力;另外,高一学生第一次接触英语戏剧的学习,对于英语戏剧的特点和要素可以说是一无所知。
因此在教学过程中,教师不必拘泥日常的阅读教学步骤,而要根据题材的特点进行教学。
初次教学实践Step1Warming up在学习戏剧的时候,教师首先应让学生透彻地了解剧本的时代背景及作者的创作意图,以此激发他们读剧本的热情和冲动. 因此,我安排学生阅读有关马克吐温的背景材料及其作品。
