The Palace Museum
The Palace Museum, also called the Forbidden City, is located in the centre of Beijing. The palace used by emperors of the Ming and Qing Dynasties is the largest and most complete ancient wooden-structure building complex in the world. Construction of the Forbidden City started in 1406 and lasted 14 years. 24 emperors were enthroned there.

The Great Wall
The Great Wall, located in northern China, is 6700 kilometers long and thus known as the “wan li chang cheng”. Construction of the wall went on for more than 2000 years, from 7th century to 14th century AD. The wall has become a symbol of both China’s proud history and its present strength.

The West Lake
West Lake is located in the historic area of Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang province. It evolved from a shallow bay through which the Qiantang River flowed into the East China Sea. In the ancient times it is called Qiantang Lake and Xizi Lake. By the way, the entrance of the West Lake is free.

The West Lake
The name of West Lake was fixed as early as the Tang Dynasty. In the Song Dynasty, the Chinese renowned( 著名) poet Su Shi wrote a poem to praise the West Lake and compared it to Xizi(西施), a Chinese beauty. Since then, the West Lake has another name Xizi Lake. And as it lies in the west of Hangzhou, it is usually called the West Lake.
