Abstract:Since the1970s, communicativelanguageteaching (CLT)isthe mainstream in second language teaching (SLT).The emergence of task-basedlanguageteaching (TBLT), bring great impact on the traditional communicativemethod.What theTask-basedlanguageteaching criticizeis some specificteaching modes, especially the 3P program as a representative of the weak version of communicativelanguage teaching. From theprospectiveof theteaching principle, the taskbased languageteaching and the communicative language teachingaresimilar. TheTBLTcan be regarded as a branchin the strong version of communicative language teaching. Therefore, theTBLT does not deny the CLT and it’s thedevelopmentof CLT.Meanwhile, theapplicationof CLTcannotbereplacedby TBLT.

摘要:70年代以来,交际性教学法在第二语言教学中处于主流地位。任务型教学法的出现,给传统的交际性教学法带来极大的冲击。然而,任务型教学法所批判的仅仅是传统交际法中的某些具体的教学模式,尤其是作为弱版交际法代表的3P课程。从教学原则看,任务型教学和交际性教学法是一致的,可以视为强版交际法中的一个支流。这些主张与任务型教学法的理念是基本一致的。因此,任务型教学法并没有否定交际性教学法,它是交际性教学法的延伸。同时,任务型教学法也不能取代交际性教学法在教学中的应用。
Grammar-translation method prevailed in the 18th and 19th century and early 20th century. At this stage, with Grammar-translation Method opposite with Direct Method, Reading Method, etc. Direct method to emphasize oral introduction to request directly with the target language teaching, Reading Method pays attention to develop language feeling. The Direct Method and Reading Method teaching theory have a great influence on later structuralism.

CONTENTS
Introduction
Communicative Language Teaching(CLT, this article referred to as “Communicative language teaching”) originated in the early 1970s, in twenty years later, it becomes the mainstream of Language Teaching. However, even in the age which the CLT is very popular, people still have some questions to query it. After 1990s, a variety of new teaching theory appear constantly, especially the task-based language teaching (Task-based Learning, TBL for short), is becoming popular in second language teaching to be the new favorite gradually. Before the communicative method, second language teaching has experienced two stages: traditional stage and the stage of structuralism. Stage of language teaching in traditional Grammar-translation method is represented.
