随着因特网（Internet）在全球的迅猛发展和广泛应用，电子商务（Electronic Commerce）受到人们越来越多的关注，并渗透到人们生活的各个角落，改变着社会经济的各个方面。
基于J2EE的三层架构还具备很多特点。
应用J2EE的三层架构对于保留现存的IT 资产有着重要意义。
由于基于J2EE平台的产品几乎能够在任何操作系统和硬件配置上运行，现有的操作系统和硬件也可以被完整地保留下来继续使用。
J2EE体系对大型系统的高效开发有着良好的支持者。
对异构环境的支持是基于J2EE体系的又一优秀特征。
可伸缩性也是社保行业要求的一项重要系统特征。
基于J2EE平台的应用程序可被部署到各种操作系统和平台上。
本系统的开发能够提高工作效率，扩大服务范围，降低工作人员的劳动强度，提高商店资金利用率。
及时获取鲜花库存信息，为鲜花商店经理的预测鲜花的销售量和正确的决策提供可靠的参考信息。
科学的管理鲜花和库存，提高资金利用率，尽最大可能的限度满足顾客的需要。
鲜花的管理信息系统的规模较小，但作为教材的案例仍是篇幅太大。
因此，此处仅对系统分析和系统设计阶段的主要工作加以介绍。
在管理信息系统的整个开发过程中，系统分析和系统设计是基础性的和难度较大的工作阶段，所以，加强对系统分析、系统设计的举例，对巩固和深化所学的知识会有较大的收益。
