Acer宏碁公司董事会通过决议，由资讯产品全球运营中心总经理 翁建仁升任全球总裁董事长兼执行长王振堂与翁建仁一起带领 Acer宏碁，迎接ICT（信息与通信技术）产业新时代的挑战与任务 Acer宏碁股东会正式由创办人施振荣交棒给第二代经理人王振堂 Acer宏碁集团战略拆分为Acer（宏碁） 、Benq（明基）、Wistron（纬创） Acer宏碁正式决定将品牌与代工制造业务完全切开，这个重大决定造就了现在Acer宏碁在 品牌PC市场与纬创在ODM产业的光荣前景 Acer宏碁在美国零售PC市场推出Aspire家用计算机，成为全球级“Killer”产品，叫好又叫座 Acer宏碁以“矽奥技术”(chip-up)获得专利，成为推动台湾企业开始正视知识产权重要性的转折点
