Suizhou Welcomes You
Hallo, ladies and gentlemen, today I want to introduce my hometown – Suizhou. Suizhou belongs to central China’s Hubei Province, is located in the area between Yangtze River and Huaihe River. This southern city owns a warm and wet climate. The rich farmland gives us big harvests year after year. The abundant fresh water resources lead a prosperous fishing industry. The fish is so cheap and tasty that every day I would enjoy a delicious fish at home. Suizhou is widely acknowledged as the birthplace of Yandi, also known as Emperor Yan. He is celebrated to introduce major agricultural innovations to the Chinese people of ancient times. So Yandi is respectfully called as Shennong or the Divine Farmer by his descendents. Every year many Chinese from all over the world come to the cave in Suizhou to commemorate the legendary Chinese forebears. Another famous cultural relic in Suizhou is Bianzhong or the Chime bells. Bianzhong were unearthed from the tomb of Marquis Yi of Zeng State and consist of 65 bronze bells. The set of Bianzhong which is said to be the heaviest musical instruments in the world dates back to the Warring States Period and was acclaimed as one of the great discoveries in world musical history. However, this precious cultural relic in not in Suizhou now, it is treasured by Hubei Provincial Museum in Wuhan, the capital city of Hubei Province. What a pity! There is not enough time to introduce more interesting things from Suizhou. The best way to understand Suizhou is to take a trip there. Suizhou welcomes you, thank you.
