七、课程目的、性质和任务：随着我国改革开放的不断深入，国际交往的日益频繁，经济和社会生活等方方面面逐渐与国际社会接轨，必然会需要越来越多的精通英语的复合型人才。
国家根据我国加入世界贸易组织后新形势的需要，有提出了加快外语教学改革，提高学生应用能力的要求。
也就是说大学生们应该更加重视听说等英语综合应用能力的培养，而听说又是语言学习中最复杂、最敏感的部分，是语言交际的重要途径与手段，同时也要求很高的语境活动的参与。
声音和图像合二为一的英美原版电影作为听力训练的材料，不但能提高学生的兴趣，加强语境化教学，而且有助于学生语言学习和文化学习同步进行，学会在文化中使用语言。
《英美原版电影欣赏》（英文）课程的目的和任务就是通过介绍相应影片故事背景、讲解重点词汇和句型、欣赏经典台词、评析影片所表现的主题等环节，增强我校学生欣赏英美原版电影的能力和水平，加深他们对英美文化社会的了解，提高他们在真实语境中的听说能力和交际能力。
八、课程的主要内容：
介绍相应影片故事背景、讲解重点词汇和句型、欣赏经典台词、评析影片所表现的主题。
影片包括：乱世佳人、双城记、狮子王、阿甘正传、战地钟声、白雪公主、马语者、黄金时代、君子协定、北非谍影、音乐之声、傲慢与偏见、魂断兰桥、简爱、出水芙蓉。
九、课程的基本教学要求：多媒体教室
十、说明：教学方法采用自编英文讲义，英文课件, 课堂双语讲授，以英语为主。
十一、考核方式：考查：用英语完成英语试卷方式考查学生对影片中英美文化基础知识和重点词句的掌握情况和和运用能力。

7. Objective: We Chinese students meet a lot of difficulties in English listening or communicating
with English-Speaking people. Among the reasons, one is t he students’ not enough
exposure to the real communication contexts, another is their lack of the necessary
background knowledge of British culture and American culture and corresponding
expressions in such cultural cases. This course is intended to get the candidates, by the
means of movie watching, more exposed to he real communication context, informed
of the basics of British culture and American culture and therefore more able to enjoy
the movies in English.
8. Main Contents: The main steps of the movie watching include: introduction to the background of
the movie, explanation of the key words and sentences in the movie, appreciation
of classical actor’s lines, appraisal of the morals in the movie. And the classical
movies include: Gone with the Wind, A Tale of Two cities, the Lion King, Forrest
Gump,For Whom the Bell Tolls, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, The Horse
Whisperer, The Best Years of Our Lives, Gentleman’s Agreement，Casablanca，
Sound of Music, Pride and Prejudice, Waterloo Bridge, Jane Ere, Bathing Beauty.
9.Basic teaching Requirements: multimedia classroom
10.Other Explanations:Using English handouts and English courseware and using English
language as the major class language aided with Chinese if necessary.
11.Hours Distribution: 3 periods per week, totally 16 weeks
