• Believes in the supervision of industry by the government, even distribution of wealth, and equal opportunity. • After world war II, establishing welfare state to provide people with social security, unemployment insurance, and national healthy service . • Because of the decline of trade union membership and influence. In 1995,gives up commitment to socialism and the nationalisation.
Civil servant (公务员)
• There are about 500,000 civil servants in the UK today.

• Work regular
• Little extra work • High social position • Good salary
Conservative Party
• Supports private enterprise and minimal state regulation, and accepts the mixed economy (involves private ownership of businesses with some government control).
