(5) Many people tend to think of Frost as an optimistic “country philosopher” and his poems as simple, ordinary nature poems. (6) Frost's poems show deep appreciation of natural world and sensibility about the human aspirations.
When he was as old as eighty-seven, two years before his death, he was chosen to read one of his poems, “The Gift Outright” (1942) at the inauguration of the late President John F. Kennedy.
In 1900, his grandfather bought him a farm in New Hampshire (新罕布什 尔州) from which he wrested a living, supplemented by teaching, for 12 years.

This was no doubt an important period in his development, for he was distinctly and almost exclusively the poet of the New England countryside and country people.
