The Comparison of Propaganda Films from Peking University and Yale University Recently,I have watched two propaganda films for school admissions.one is from Peking University,another comes from Yale University.The films have presented the characteristics and culture of the two schools with different ways,aiming for attracting students to come.
There are some obvious similarities in the propaganda films from both Peking University and Yale University. There was a head and tail echo in both films,the film of Peking University started with a kerosene lamp lighted by a match,and ended with a lighting match,Yale University took a traditional Yale information session as the beginning,and finished the film by returning to the session.Besides,both universities exhibited their diverse subjects and academic atmosphere.
However,there are numbers of differences between two propaganda films. Peking University centered on the course of school developing for century,with sombre hue and depressive music which was difficult to understand,and it lacked the presentation of modernization and globalization.while Yale University raised a question straightly with”why do you choose Yale”,and begined with the view of a admission officer,introducing the condition and facilities in the school ,presenting their housing system,diverse societies including dancing、singing、sports、play and so on,as well as academic opportunities,emphasizing the globalization by exhibition of students from different countries.
From a personal perspective,I prefer to the film of Yale University,although the film of Peking University have presented the developing history with profound artistic conception,it is difficult for the public to understand.Yale University have shown its advantages by a relax way,full with vitality ,thus it attracts me to know more.。
