英语口语软件外国人教你如何记单词

英语口语软件,外国人教你如何记单词Love words. You have to really want to learn new vocabulary if you're going to succeed.首先,要爱上“单词”这个东东。

Look up words you don't know whenever you encounter them. After encountering and looking up a word several times, you should eventually be able to remember its definition.记忆学家统计过,一个单词你遇见6次,就会永生不忘。

Use a Thesaurus. A thesaurus is a great resource which enables you to know the more advanced equivalent of basic english words.词典是法宝!Read. Read all genres of books. When you come across a word you don't know, read the sentences around the word and try to figure out what it means from the context. Check your guess with a dictionary. This doesn't mean you should start reading medical textbooks or other books with lots of new words on every page. Set aside time each day to sit down with your book. Enjoy yourself!阅读永远是提高词汇量的必经之路。

Play word games with friends. Try Boggle, Scrabble, or Catch-Phrase. There are so many great games out there to teach you new words. If a friend comes up with a word that you don't know, ask them what it means.玩游戏也有大帮助哦!Use the words you learn when you're talking to people or writing letters or e-mail. Using your new vocabulary is not only fun, but a great way to remember all these new words. Try to use at least three new words a day when communicating with anyone.活学活用,举一反三永远是硬道理。

Learn roots, prefixes, and suffixes. Many words in the English language come from Latin or Greek words. When you combine these Latin or Greek words, you get new words in English. For example: astro ("astron" meaning "star") + logy (logos meaning "speech") = astrology (meaning "telling of the stars").学习词根,前缀和后缀,离成功就近了一半!Find a friend who speaks English. It's good to practise using your new words. With a web connection, your conversation partner does not need to live near you. You can email, chat, and even phone each other using your computers. A friend who understands that you are learning can help you practice, use new words in your conversations, and offer you advice. Since talking to a friend is fun, it won't feel like work! If your friend wants to learn your language, too, it will be easier for both of you to understand each other's mistakes.练习永远是王道,趣味性的练习让你更上一层楼!Listen to the radio, watch television, or find a podcast that you like in English, and practise understanding the language when spoken, too.一切能用来练习的机会都不要错过哦!全文用词生动,妙语迭出,限于篇幅,不能一一尽数,仅举几例。

第六~七行有这样的句子:“they will be able, as it were, to see and hear us in action.(他们仿佛可以亲眼看到、亲耳听到我们的一举一动。

)”“as it were”是重要的短语,常作插入语,意为“仿佛…;可以说是…”。

例如:“He is, as it were, a walking dictionary.(他可以说是一部活字典。

)”又如在1994年1月大学英语四级考试阅读理解第三篇的第一段:“Reading is thought to be a kind of conversation between the reader and the text. The reader puts questions, as it were, to the text and gets answers. In the light of these he puts further questions, and so on.(阅读被认为是读者与文章的一种交流。

读者仿佛是在向文章提出问题并获得答案。

根据这些答案他又提出更进一步的问题,如此往复下去。

)”这段话中就出现了这个重要的短语(细心的同学会发现,最后一句中的“in the light of …”—“根据…;鉴于…”“In the light of this statement, teachers 在同一本教材的27课的第一段中曾出现过:live by selling knowledge, philosophers by selling wisdom and priests by selling spiritual comfort.”)。

随着熟练度的增加,我们不但可以识记这个短语,甚至还可以灵活使用。

比如在作文考试中需要用到这样的句子“汉族和少数民族可以说是像一家人一样。

”根据本文的知识,辅之以前面课文讲过的词汇,我们可以并不困难地随手写出“The Han nationality and the minority nationalities are all, as it were, members of the same family.”同一页第七行又出现了这样的句子:“But the historian attempting to reconstruct the distant past is always faced with a difficult task.(但是试图重现遥远历史的原貌的史学家往往会面临着一个艰巨的任务。

)”其中出现了考试中常见的重要搭配“be faced with …”—“面临着(某个亟需解决的问题)”。

同一页第十至十一行再次出现了这个搭配:“Up to now, historians have assumed that calendars came into being with the advent of agriculture, for then man was faced with a real need to understand something about the seasons.(历史学家迄今认为日历是随农业的问世而出现的,因为当时人们面临着了解四季的实际需要。

)”老师在课上会讲到另一个同义搭配“be confronted with …”。

在1999年6月大学英语六级考试阅读理解第一篇中出现过这样的句子:“But if the animals are confronted with situations they have no control over, they later behave passively when faced with experiences they can control.”。

同一句话中同时出现了“be confronted with …”和“be faced with …”两个短语,相信学过三册的同学理解这个句子当易如反掌了:“但是如果动物面临它们自己无法控制的情况,那么此后他们在面对自己可以控制的情况时就会表现得消极。

”同一页的第八行至第九行有这样一句话:“Even seemingly insignificant remains can shed interesting light on the history of early man.(甚至看起来微不足道的遗迹,也可能揭示人类早期历史的一些有趣的内容。

)”句中有一个精彩的表达“shed light on …”,意为“揭示…”,也可以写作“throw light on …”或“cast light on …”。
