My Attitude Towards Certificates “Maniac”
It has become a common phenomenon that more and more college students attend short-term courses for some certificates of various kinds. However, some people argue that students should concentrate their energy on their major field of study. As far as I’m concerned, it is necessary for college students to get more certificates. The reasons are as follows.
First of all, getting more certificates means we have more opportunities to find a good job. As we all know, nowadays, all of college students are faced with a high pressure of finding a good job. Employers no longer just concentrate on employees’grades at college alone. Instead, they pay more attention on their practical skills, so we college students cannot just study all day long. We get more and more certificate to prepare for our career. We can find a job not only depending on our professional knowledge but also on our certificates.
What’s more, taking certificate-oriented short-term courses helps broaden our horizons. Everyone knows that our society develops so fast, but the professional knowledge we’ve learned from campus is not enough for students’further development in the future. In the process of getting the certificates, students can have an acquaintance with other subjects. Also, college years are the golden time of learning, we can develop ourselves all-round way and make full use of our time to enrich ourselves and to make us to be knowledgeable person.
Last but not least, what college students learn from those certificate-oriented courses helps students to learn their professional knowledge well. Taking me as an example, last semester I attended the English tour guide training courses, and I’ve learned a large mount of vocabulary of tourism. Also, I’ve learned many special
expressions in tourist translation. Before I attended the oral examination, I spent a lot of time to recite those tour commentaries, but it is really helpful for me to learn my major. This is killing two birds with one stone, isn’t it?
In conclusion, we can obviously see that taking courses to get some certificates is absolutely right for college students. We will benefit them for long run.。
