How will AI affect our life?
I’ve read some articles about AI(Artificial Intelligence) on the Internet including one which reports the news that r ecently, Google’s AlphaGo defeated Lee Sedol, the World Go Champion, 4 to 1 in a five-game m atch. Beside this, I’ve also learned that on 2016 January, the ITIF(Information Technology and Innovation Foundation) in the Washington DC gave the Luddite Award to a group of scientists and famous people who worn human beings of the risk of us being destroyed by AI and among whom are Hawkin and Marx. Obviously, the issue of AI has loomed ahead and I’d like to come up with my own point of view about whether it’s dangerous to develop AI unceasingly as well as how AI affect our life in the future.
To be honest it’s hard to say whether we are taking our lives for risks because, we haven’t seen the real result, after all. In other words, nobody knows what exactly will happen in the future. What we can do is just speculating with the knowledge we have mastered. However, according to the history, we could found that, almost all the fantasies showed in the movies came true in the end. So, maybe it’s same with the AI that one day, the robots will have emotions and thoughts and they killed all the people or let humans be their slaves eventually. But we could also give it another viewing angel from the length of time.
For short-term, the advantages are more than disadvantages. First of all, it will bring conveniences to our daily life. We will be able to close our house windows when it’s about to rain even when we are on work in the office. What’s more, the factories can save more work forces because the robots have the ability to work day and night without tired and compliments. In addition, some dangerous tasks that people are unwilling to do such as working in the high altitude or under the deep ground, some accurate jobs that people cannot accomplish well such as doing some precise experiment. Last but not least, it will speed up the process of the development of our society though it will get many people unemployment. For long-term, the result could be terribly horrible. If we could find a material one day that could storage much more information than today, then we could apply it to AI. Then, AI would have very big data maybe it could have the capacity to study by analyzing the big data. So it could be very dangerous as soon as AI had the power of study. Maybe, they will find that human is the source of all the evil and if they want to survive, they have to wipe out all the human beings which must be the doomsday for human.
Yet we have to develop it with so many risks because it’s the trend of the history. Just remember, be cautious!。
