My hero-Dr Norman Bethune Norman Bethune is one of the most famous heroes in China. He helped the Chinese people and died for them. He was born in 1890 and became a doctor in1916. He went to Spain in 1936. He developed new ways of taking care of the sick. He invented special medical tools to use outside hospitals. In 1938, Dr Bethune came to China. He worked very hard without resting or taking care of himself. In 1939, he cut his finger during an operation, but he continued his work without treating it. In the end, he died of his wound. He is still remembered in both Canada and China. (107 words)

My perfect holiday Zheng Chenyu became so bored with his parents’ orders that he wished they would leave him alone. One day, his dream came true! As soon as he got home from school, he ate snacks, enjoyed a film and played computer games. But he woke up late the next morning. At school, he felt tired and sleepy all day long. When he got home, he burnt rice and even dropped his father’s cup. He felt lonely and began to miss his parents. He learnt to cook and tidy up. Now he thinks being home alone is not always perfect.
The Great Wall has become a symbol of China. We are proud of it.
Thanksgiving Thanksgiving is an American festival. It is celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November. It is a time for a special dinner among family and friends. People make short speeches and give thanks for their food. We have celebrated the festival since the first pioneers from England arrived in America by ship in the seventeenth century. The local people taught them how to grow corn. The following year they celebrated together by eating a dinner. We usually eat too much, and we often talk a lot and tell stories after dinner as well. When I arrived, it was early morning and it was raining. I got out of the car, went through a gate and walked along a path.

The Great Wall
The Great Wall is one of the New Seven Wonders of the world. It is over 2, 000 years. It is in the north of China.
The Great Wall is about 8, 850 kilometres long, 5.8 metres wide at the top and 7. 8 metres high. It is wide enough for five horses or ten men to walk side by side. There is a Chinese saying: “He who does not reach the Great Wall is not a true man.”
