The site is located in Haizhu District, Guangzhou City, which is under the jurisdiction of the CBD. Its east side is close to South Jiangnan Avenue and next to a group of strip retail shops. The southern edge has an interface to the north block of Nanzhu Plaza while the west has a street from west to Jiangyan Road.

Guangzhou is in the subtropical monsoon climate. Temperature in Guangzhou is high with monthly mean range from 13 °C in January to 28.4 °C in July, with the mean for year at 21.9 °C. Rainfall is heavy with 1696.5mm mean annual precipitation. Frost-free days are long and with rich sunshine. The annual average sunshine hours are over 1800 hours, which will reach the richest period between June and December. Usually, the average wind speed in Guangzhou is not very strong with an annual mean wind speed between 1.9 to 2.1m/s. Temporary strong wind will appear during summer, and seasonal wind shifts are obvious: southeaster during April and July while northeaster during September and March in next year. Thunderstorm is quite frequent in Guangzhou. The thunderstorm season lasts from May to October.
