In a man's life, there are many thing he can pursue and chase. Nevertheless, if he want catch all of them in one time, he will ignore the quality of what he struggles for. It also works on friendship. If people want to make friends as much as possible, they will not have time to bring up the quality of friendship you build with others. So, the quality is more significant than the number. Taking my classmate, John, as an example can illustrate what I am taking about. He is a very out-going boy who majors in art history. When he attended college, he was very excited and could not wait to make new friends with others and wanted to know more about surrounding people. After some time in the university, he felt nothing but tired and didn't know who he should talk to. Of course, he had made a lot of friends, but he really wanted to talk to a close friends rather than a friend just like a stranger. He realized what he did was not the best way to make friends. And he decided to maintain friendship instead of building a lot of new friendship .Now, although he just has small number of friends, he feels happier than before.
I can assume there are many people hold the belief that the ability to make new friends easily can make people have a lot of friends. However, it can not be denied if you do not maintainn the friendship you build,these new friends will finally become stangers rather than friends.So,at the end of this,youcan not have many friends as people's expectation.Wecan not talk about happiness without the exsitence of friendships.
According to what I have referred above,we can come down as following:the ability to maintain friendships is a tool to guarantee quality of friendships.The higher quality the friendship has,the more happiness people will gain from the future.。
