I read your problem from the newsletter. In my opinion, it is silly to argue with your mother. I used to have the same kind of problem as you. I used to wear ripped jeans and my parents disliked them, I showed them some pictures of teens wearing ripped jeans from magazines, and I told them my ideas about clothes. Finally they accepted the fact that I am no longer a child and I needed them to respect my choice.
Arguing is not helpful. Try to talk with your parents in a friendly way.

I’m glad to hear from you. I have some suggestions that may help you.
First, you said you could’t understand what the French teacher said. Well, you can try to listen to the most important words, not every word. And after class you should do more listening practice.
Second, you are afraid to speak in front of your classmates. Don’t worry. You can try to make more friends and often talks with them after class.
Finally, don’t be afraid of exams. If I were you, I would ask parents for help and listen to soft music. If you do, you’ll have a good sleep to face the next day’s exams.
I hope you will do better in French and get along well with your new classmates.

There was a strange moving thing in the sky last night. As for what it was, each make different inferences. Alice said it must be a UFO because it flew very fast and no man-made things could fly so fast. Jack thought it couldn’t be a UFO because it wasn’t flying high in the sky. It might be a kite. He used to fly a kite that could give off light. But Antonio didn’t agree with them. He thought it must be a plane because it sounded like a plane. What do you think it was?

Dear Jack,
I’d like to provide you with a plan for the trip to Xishan Eco-Travel Farm this Saturday.
Let’s start at 8:00 am by bus. It’s just a 30-minute ride. We can go fishing and enjoy the scenery of Tai Lake in the morning. At noon, we’ll have the local dishes. After lunch, let’s pick some strawberries on the farm. At 5:00, we’ll come back.
Xishan is famous in Suzhou for its fresh air, beautiful farm scenery and green farm food. I hope we’ll have a wonderful time together there.

Or you may find future jobs. V olunteering offers more opportunities for you to experience life. If you’d like to support charities but you can’t afford to donate money, you can donate your time instead. Second, as for the society, it helps to make it better. V olunteering helps people who are in trouble. It filled their life with pleasure and hope. V olunteering also helps people get along well with each other and live happily together.

Dear Sam,
I’d like to tell you about the trip I took on October 4th. I went to the mountains around the town with my friends by bike. We brought many things like our sunglasses, hats, food and drinks.
First we climbed up the mountains. As soon as we reached the top, we started flying kites. At noon, we sat on the grass and had a picnic. The weather was very fine.In the afternoon we met some boys who were the same age as us, so we started talking. Could you believe that I found a boy who has the same name as me? He was even born on the same day and year aas me, too. I was very surprised! Afterwards we played together happily.
What an unforgettable trip!
