“渝新欧”是重庆至欧洲的国际铁路大通道。是指利用南线欧亚大陆桥这条 国际铁路通道，从重庆出发，经西安、兰州、乌鲁木齐，向西过北疆铁路， 到达边境口岸阿拉山口，进入哈萨克斯坦，再经俄罗斯、白俄罗斯、波兰， 至德国的杜伊斯堡，全长11179公里。这一条由沿途六个国家铁路、海关 部门共同协调建立的铁路运输通道。重庆是欧亚大陆桥的新起点。“渝”指 重庆，“新”指新疆阿拉山口，“欧”指欧洲，合称“渝新欧”。

重庆海关关长马忠源表示，重庆企业通过新疆口 岸进出口货物已近四千万美元，随着“渝—新— 欧”国际铁路联运大通道和渝新区域通关的开通， 此数据有望实现几何级数的增长。

“渝新欧”的开通，将为我国西部，特别是 内陆省份起到良好的带动作用，它开辟了我国西部 对外交往、对外交流合作的通道，将为我国西部地 区取得更大的经济效益，优化资源配置、提升经济 实力。推进沿线区域的开发开放，推进区域经济的 平衡协调发展，加快工业化进程和城市化进程。

运行路线从重庆始发，经达州、安康、西安、兰州、 乌鲁木齐，到达边境口岸阿拉山口，进入哈萨克斯 坦，再转俄罗斯、白俄罗斯、波兰，至德国的杜伊 斯堡，全程11179公里。全程运行时间约13天，比 原运行时间39天减少2/3，渝新欧国际铁路联运运 费比航空节省；运到时限比海运缩短，安全性更高， 通关也更加便捷。
