Good morning,teachers. I am xx. Today, my speech topic is“Protect the environment”.
The world itself is becoming much smaller by using modern traffic and modern communication means. Life today is much easier than it was hundreds of years ago,but it has bought n ew problems. One of the biggest is the enviro nment problem.
Environmental problems are becoming more and more serious all over the world. For example, cars have made the air unhealthy for people to breathe and poisonous [ˈ
pɔizənəs] gas is given off by factories. Trees on the hills have been cut down and waste water is being poured into rivers.Furthermore, wh erever we go today, we can find rubbish. in fact,Pollution is, threatening [ˈ
θretnɪŋ] our existence. [ɪgˈzɪstəns]
全世界的环境问题变得越来越严重。

例如汽车污染的空气影响了人们的呼吸，工厂释放污染的气体，山上的树木被砍伐，污水不断被排人河里。

另外，无论我们走到哪里，到处可见随意丢弃的垃圾。

事实上，污染正威胁我们的生存。

Among these ,air pollution is the most serious.
We all know that clean air is important t o good health. Wherever we go and whatever we do,we always take in air. So we need the clean air. However,the air is getting worse and worse recently. Big cities have many factori es,which we need to make food clothes and oth er things. They pour millions of tons of smog
As we know , water is very important to ma n, （我们知道，水对人类来说是非常的重要。

）
we can t live without water. （没有水我们就不能生存。

）
The water which is suitable to drink is less and less. （适合人类喝的水是越来越少了。

）
But some people don t care about it .（但是有些人却不关心或不在意。

）
They waste a lot of water in their daily l ife. （日常生活中他们浪费很多水。

）
Even worse, they pour dirty water in to river s.（更糟糕的是他们排放污水到河流
里。

）They throw rubbish into rivers , too.
（他们还乱扔垃圾到河流理去。

）
Many rivers and lakes are seriously polluted.（很多河流湖泊已经受到严重污
染。

）Something must be done to stop the pol lution. （人类必须采取一些措施来制止污染。

）
Only in this way we can live happily.（只有这样，我们才过得幸福开
心。

）If we don t save water, the last dr op of water will be a tear-drop of us.( 如果我们不节约水，那么最后一滴水也许会是我们人类的眼泪)
The earth is our home and we have the duty [ˈ
dju:ti] to take care of it for ourselves and for our later generations [dʒenə'reɪʃnz]. now, more and more people have realized these problem s. Laws have been passed to stop pollution. I hope the problem will be solved in the ne ar future and our home will become better and better。
