通过学习本单元，让学生对加拿大有更多的了解，使学生能够用所学的词汇与句式表达方向与位置，并学会条理地写出旅游过程中的所见所闻。
本单元阅读部分是一篇游记“在旅途中看加拿大”，两位女孩李黛玉与刘茜沿着从西向东的旅游路线向我们介绍了加拿大的面积、地貌、主要城市、人口、生态环境等。
她们在旅途中看到了自然美景及野生动物，文章还介绍了加拿大的自然资源，让学生对加拿大的美丽、富饶、幅员辽阔、地广人稀有更深的了解。
学生可以通过学习课文掌握新的词汇、句型和游记的写法，提高学生的阅读能力。
二、学情分析本班的学生英语基础一般，平时较少阅读游记题材的文章和知识面相对狭窄，大部分学生缺乏世界地理和历史的知识，阅读理解这篇文章还是有一定难度。
但本班学生的好奇心和学习接受能力比较强，可以布置学生课前上网或去图书馆找出一些有关加拿大的资料，并与多媒体相结合简单介绍加拿大的一些知识，让学生有了一定的知识准备以利于很好的理解课文。
三、设计理念及教学目标这节课的主要目的是培养学生跳读和细读的阅读技巧，使学生学会准确分析阅读问题，懂得从文章中找到关键句子摄取必要的信息，找出正确的答案。
我运用多媒体和学生搜索材料主动参与学习相结合，设计了表格、问答题、画路线题和信息整理题。
这不仅提高学生的阅读技巧，也教会学生怎样处理不同的阅读问题。
(1)、情感态度：通过了解其他国家了解世界,扩大学生的知识面,培养学生开放的世界观。
)、文化意识：了解加拿大的基本概况，包括它的地理位置、主要城市、风土人情以及它的多元文化，使学生对世界文化有更深的理解。
3)、学习策略：通过自主学习和小组讨论等方式，培养学生自主探究和合作交流等学习策略。
4)、语言知识：在阅读文章时，学会分析并掌握以下生词和词组的用法。

五、教学重点与难点(1)、了解和记忆加拿大的一些信息；(2)、学会分析阅读问题，在跳读文章时迅速找到关键句子和推理判断出正确的答案。
六、教学工具多媒体课件七、教学过程Step 1 . Duty report课前表演两个学生表演关于假期旅游计划的对话。
教师提前给学生关于旅游的主题，让学生自己编或找相关对话进行练习，在课前几分钟完成他们的任务。
这不仅锻炼了学生的口语表达能力，还培养他们课外自主学习的能力。
Step 2 .Lead-in and Warming Up导入与热身(1) 联系以上对话引出旅游的话题，然后导入到国外旅游：最想去的国家和原因。
每两个学生之间进行简短的采访。
这个简单的问答采访可以让基础弱的同学也能参与到课堂活动，使课堂的气氛活跃起来。
T：The two students have a good plan about their holiday.They are goi ng to take a trip to Beijing in summer holiday.What about you?Do you like traveling,too?Ss: Yes, we like traveling very much.T: If you can go abroad, which country would you like to visit most? Why?Now，make an interview with your partner，and then tell us her or his idea.(2) 采访后，让两个学生向全班同学陈述他们的采访结果。
教师随之引出自己想去的一个国家。
由教师的想法切入本单元的话题---加拿大。

Would you like to know s omething about it?Ss:Yes!Step 3 Pre-reading阅读前(1) 在屏幕中展示枫叶旗和同时播放加拿大国歌，然后让学生猜出国家的名字。
运用多媒体向学生呈现加拿大各方面的信息，使他们对加拿大产生兴趣并能够直观了解加拿大。
T: Here are its national flag and national anthem . Can you guess whi ch country it is?Ss: Canada.(2) 在屏幕中展示加拿大地图及其标志性动物海狸，然后让学生根据事先搜集的资料完成下面的表格。
这不仅让学生参加了课堂学习，提高学习效率，也让学生有了一定的知识储备可以更好地理解课文。

这些题目锻炼学生迅速提取文章信息的能力。
教师先指导学生分析每个阅读问题，找出问题中的关键词和提示语，教会学生怎样处理不同类型的阅读题。
问题六要求学生把地图和课文两方面的信息综合起来在地图上画出李黛玉与刘茜横穿加拿大的路线图，抓住她们的行踪也就了解了文章的结构线索，零散的信息就可以串联起来。
