should表示“应该”，shouldn’t表示“不应该”。

其后要跟动词原形。

例如：We shouldn’t play football in the street. 我们不应该在街上踢足球。

2.He sees something on the grass.他看到草地上有些东西。

something 是“不定代词”表示某物，不确指，形容词修饰不定代词的时候要后置，例如：something interesting 有趣的东西something new 新的东西There is something wrong with my bike. 我的自行车出了点问题。

3.Jim:When’s your birthday?吉姆：你什么时候生日？Ben:It’s on the18th of October.本：我的生日在10月18日。

用when来询问别人的生日，答句用：It’s + on + the + 序数词+ of + 月份，答句中的on 不能省略。

例如：—When’s Children’s Day?—It’s on the first of June.4.Would you like to come to my birthday party?你想要来参加我的生日聚会吗？1) would like to do sth. 想要做某事，相当于want to do sth.。

例如：I’d like to go with Dad. 我想要和爸爸一起去。

2) Would you like to do sth.? 这个句型的肯定回答一般为：Sure. / Yes, I’d like to. 不用Yes, please. /No, thanks. 来回答。

例如：—Would you like to go shopping with me? 你想和我一起去购物吗？—Yes, I’d like to. 是的，我愿意。

而Would you like sth.? 用Yes, please. /No, thanks. 来回答.试比较：What would you like to do?What would you like?5.It’s time for some cake.到吃蛋糕的时间了。

It’s time for + 名词，意思是: 该到……的时间了，同义句型: It’s time to do sth.上面的句子我们还可以这样说：It’s time to have some cake.再如：It’s time for class. = It’s time to have a class. 到上课的时间了。

6.Can I eat a hamburger here?Yes,you can./No,you can’t.我能在这儿吃汉堡包吗？是的，你可以。

/不，你不能。

can是情态动词，没有人称和数的变化。

常用的情态动词还有：need, may, must, should 以及它们的否定形式：can’t, needn’t, mustn’t, shouldn’t等。

7.They usually spend time with their families and friends.他们通常和家人、朋友们一起欢度时光。

spend 的意思是“度过；花费”之意。

如：He spent five yuan on the story book.他花了五块钱买了这本故事书。

He spent the whole weekend playing computer games.他整个周末都花在了打电脑游戏上。

8.I’ve got two presents from Mum and Dad.我从爸爸妈妈那得到了两份礼物。

I’ve got = I have got,指“我得到了……”。

如果主语是第三人称单数，则变成：he’s/she’s got = he / she has got。

如：I’ve got a new bike from my Dad.我从爸爸那得到了一辆新自行车。

She has got many beautiful cards from her students.她从学生那得到了许多漂亮的卡片。

一般过去时也表示过去经常或反复发生的动作。

（3）句中动词为实义动词的一般过去时的句子：否定句：didn't +动词原形，如：Jim went home yesterday.Jim didn't go home yesterday.一般疑问句：在句首加did，句子中的动词过去式变回原形。

Did Jim go home yesterday?Yes, he did. / No, he didn’t.特殊疑问句：疑问词+一般疑问句？What did Jim do yesterday?（4）动词过去式的构成规则动词过去式的构成①一般在动词末尾加-ed.look—looked open—opened play—played borrow—borrowed②以e结尾的动词加-d.use—used live—lived dance—danced recite—recited③以“辅音字母+y”结尾的动词，先变y为i，再加-ed.study—studied carry—carried try—tried worry—worried④末尾只有一个辅音字母的重读闭音节动词，先双写该辅音字母，再加-ed.stop—stopped plan—planned不规则动词过去式的变化。

【典型例题】1. What ______ it mean? It means we _______ keep off the grass.A. is, shouldB. does, shouldn’tC. does, should解析：本题考查句型：What does it mean? 的用法。

这是一个常用的句型。

第二个空考查情态动词should 的用法，should 意思是：应该；shouldn’t 意为不应该。

从句子意思判断：应该用should，意思是我们应该远离草坪。
