The Introduction to OCD (feature)
People with OCD are unable to control either the thoughts or the activities. Common activities include hand washing, counting of things, and checking to see if a door is locked. Some may have difficulty throwing things out. These activities occur to such a degree that the person's daily life is negatively affected. Often they take up more than an hour a day. Most adults realize that the behaviors do not make sense. The condition is associated with tics, anxiety disorder, and an increased risk of suicide.

The Factors that Cause OCD
The cause is unknown, but it has been confirmed that some people are born with a genetic predisposition(精神倾向, 体质) of developing OCD at some point in their life and some risk factors like a history of child abuse or other stress inducing event can initiate the onset of OCD or exacerbate(加 剧,恶化) the intensity of it. Some cases have been documented to occur following infections. But at its core, OCD is caused by an abnormality in the brain that makes the mind get stuck or "hung up" on certain thoughts.
• Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder is a mental disorder where people have unwanted and repeated thoughts, feelings, ideas, sensations (obsessions), or behaviors that make them feel compelled to do something (compulsions).
