I hold human sympathy on Oliver, who had traveled on foot, without a friend to help him or a roof to shelter his head .When Mr. Brownlow and Rose helped him escape from Monks’ maltreatment （虐待） and get the possession, he was grateful to them and seek ways to return their kindness.
