A Letter of Recommendation
Dear Madam/Sir,
I’m very pleased to recommend one of my favorite students, Miss XXX, to your taught postgraduate program in electronic engineering in XX University of Science and Technology.
I taught Miss XXX three specialized courses in three successive semesters since February 2013. The three semesters’ close contact with her made me know her well. She was a diligent student with strong initiative. In class she would always sit in the first row, listening and noting attentively; after class, she was ready to attend my office hour for discussion on different topics. As a result, she became one of the top 5% students who managed to get A for all the three course. Miss XXX could draw inferences from what she had already learned and use what she had learned in real work, which was actually an uncommon virtue to be found in the students from Mainland China. She is passionate about research. She independently finished the project of mobile attendance system under my supervision in the third school year. The implementation of the project wasn’t smooth at the early stage, but she made a lot of efforts, trying every possible means to overcome the difficulties, and finally she accomplished great success in the project. It impressed me that she is a person with the spirit of scientific research that is necessary for an electronic engineer. Recently she has finished her graduate design—mobile e-book reader based on Windows CE with flying colors. To my understanding, Miss XXX is a sincere, prudent and persistent student with good communicative ability and team spirit. Although sometimes the persistence would make her look stubborn, she is usually quite calm and have her head screwed on the right way.
I know she has always wished to receive better education and to be exposed to more advanced knowledge skills in electronics in your university. I heartily hope you could give her an opportunity to realize her dream. With solid professional skills, outstanding hand-on ability and tough spirit, she is sure to finish the graduate courses successfully and become a distinguished electronic professional.。
