A Quote I Admire
At the new term of my postgraduate life, I have always been confused about what I should do in order not to wear down my precious three years in the school, for there are too many things I can do, but I don’t know which is the best choice that will certainly benefit my future work and life.
Time was wasted in hesitating for the first few weeks until I saw a quote by Steve Paul Jobs, who designed the Apple Computer and Pixa animation films, in a magazine. He said, “Life is like thousands of millions of dots, you can look backward to connect the many dots. Down to this moment, what we should do is to create more dots. ”
That is the quote I admire most now, because it acts just as a forceful hand dragging me out from the fog just in time, and a shining beacon pointing out the right direction for me. It lets me know how to deal with my life and the many choices, and how to get balance between them.
Exactly, the quote means that if you are living in confusion, worried about your future, you should not agonize. Accept the reality optimistically, because the only thing missing is the dots, more dots. So stop wasting time hesitating which is the best choice benefiting your future, just do it! Instead of spending too much time considering unnecessary things of which the results can’t be anticipated, why not just do whatever you feel interested in each period?
Well, I quite agree with his opinion and therefore, I decide to shape my life according to the quote. I will put myself together to read an interesting book, to know a person who attracts me, to learn a new skill, or just to travel along with my friends,
and so on, whatever interests me, without considering whether they will pay off or not.
I strongly believe that each of these activities can be a new dot in my life.
So just start to create dots right from this moment on without considering so much, because there will be a moment when looking backward you will discover that it is the dots that contribute to your life wealth and make you what you are going to be.。
