做一个专业的英语翻译需要掌握哪些知识
上海外国语大学高级翻译学院院长柴明认为，具备一门外语只是成为一名合格的翻译人才的基础，需要在此之上拥有一定的翻译技能和素质。

Chai Ming,dean of Advanced Translation in Shanghai International Studies University, believes that being a qualified translator, you need not only to have a foreign language,but also certain transla tion skills and qualities.
基本素质：
一、双语基础好：客观忠实地翻译原文或源语的内容。

二、知识面要广：翻译其实是一个“杂家”，需要对各个领域都有所涉及，包括政治、经
济、法律等。

三、逻辑思维能力强：通常所说的辨析能力
四、反应灵敏：合格的翻译需要具备反应灵敏、口齿清晰等素质。

Basic Qualities:
Good bilingual basis: objective and faithful translation of the original or source language content.
Broad knowledge: translation is in fact a "hybrid home", translators need cover all areas, including the politics, economy and law.
Strong logical thinking: commonly referred to analyzing abilities
Agile responsibility: qualified translators need to have responsive and articulate qualities.。
