Halloween is one of the world’s oldest holidays, celebrated in several countries around the globe including the USA, Canada, England, Ireland, Scotland, Mexico, Latin America, and Spain.

• In ancient times, western people thought the evil ghosts will return to earth on every October 31 night. In order to drove the evil ghosts away, they lightened the fire and made candlesticks old and the house really deserted, it appears no one was living there, thus the evil ghosts would not come into the house. They also deliberately dressed very untidy looking very ugly, so the evil ghosts didn't want to be close to them. Futhermore, they also knew the evil ghosts are afraid of noise, so they put on grotesque clothes to the streets. This is the origin of Halloween.
