LESSON 1. Learning the Alphabet a,b,c,d,e…………… x, y z
1. The alphabet
Writing
Please ask your daughter to copy each letter of the alphabet beginning with the letter
“a” as she writes each letter please ask her to say the sound out aloud. Listen to my
MP3 and repeat how I say, each letter. Follow my sound each time.
The sounds
Some of this sound is the same as Chinese but we do not have 4 tones. English is
said in a long tone, like a wave in the sea. Get her to practice and practice the sound
as I say it not how other Chinese say it. She needs to listen carefully to my voice.
Words
Some of these words she may already know, but she needs to copy them carefully
and be able to say them the way I say them. We will add words as we go.
Grammar
I will give her a little bit of grammar as well so she can show me what she already
knows. Once I understand what she knows and does not know I can then set the
programme ahead.
