该化灰机主要特点是采用由回转运动代替搅拌的化灰方法。
化灰机内筒后部开有筛孔，石灰块同水在内筒接触消化，石灰乳穿过筛孔折流向加料口方向自下部排出口流出，未能消化的过烧及生烧石灰由外筒体尾部的捞渣装置排出筒外。
该化灰机结构装置合理、操作方便、生产效率高，生产能力大、劳动强度小，对任何质量的石灰均适用。

安装前要进行数量和质量检查。
对损伤，变形的零件应更换，修复。
应特别注意下列项目的检查：1、底座是否变形，螺栓孔距尺寸。
2、托轮直径、长度;滑动轴承则应检查配合面接触情况。
3、筒体的圆度、长度、段节接口变形情况。
4、大齿圈及传动装置。
5、细小零件的数量。

2、画水平基准线：在各基础侧面，画一条水平基准线，并做好永久性标记，作为安装测量标高及长期观察基础下沉用。
其标高误差不超过±0.5mm。
3、画筒体纵向中心线：以支撑基础地脚孔横向中心点为基准求出各中心标板的中心点。
允许偏差不超过±0.5mm。
4、画基础的横向中心线：从有挡轮的基础为基准，按修正后各档水平距尺寸画出个基础墩的横向中心线。
相邻各墩横向中心距允许误差不超过1.5mm；首尾两中心距允许的误差不超过±6mm。
5、画传动系统中心线；根据已确定的筒体中心线，以大齿圈的位置为基准，画出传动系统的各中心线。
各中心线画出后应在相应的中心标板上用样冲打出中心点。
