2.1倍数和比较级
2.1.1倍数(省略)
2.1.2形容词、副词的比较级
形容词和副词有三个等级，即原级、比较级和最高级。
构成规则有两中情况，即规则变化和不规则变化。
不规则变化需记忆，规则变化如下：
单音节形容词和副词通常都采用原级加词尾-er 构成比较级形式，原级加词尾-est则构成最高级形式/ 多数双音节、三音节及三音节以上的形容词采用“more+原形”构成比较级形式；“most+原形”构成最高级形式。
少数单音节和部分双音节形容词也more，most形式。
2．1．2．1同等程度的比较
常用句型如下：
①．as+形容词/副词原级+as
He speaks French as fluently as a native speaker。
★在as …as 中间使用名词时要注意：as+many+复数名词+as；as+much+不可数名词+as 。
The twins became interested in computer and read as many books as they could on the subject。
I have not made as much progress as I should。
★该句型还可表示“是……的多少倍”：表示倍数的词+as+many（much）+as从句。
She can write twice as fast as I。
★当形容词前有不定冠词时，则不定冠词必须放在形容词后，句型为：as+adj+a/an可数名词(单)+as 例如Dick is as handsome a boy as Bill。
②．否定结构：not as /so +adj/adv原级+as
This problem is not as /so difficult as that one 。
③．还可以用the same + 表示度量的名词（如height size length width age）+as
Lucy is the same age as Lily。
Wuyi Road is the same width as Hongwei Road 。
2．1．2．2较高程度的比较
①．adj/adv比较级+than…。
His handwriting is better than Johnso n′s。
②.adj比较级+n+than…
He lives in a more pleasant bedroom than I。
③．the +adj比较级+of +名词（指两个比较对象中的一个）如：
This is the more expensive of the two computers。
2．1．2．3最高程度的比较
①．the +adj/adv最高级+比较范围，形容词最高级前必须用定冠词the，副词前the可以省略，例如：She has got the most flowers of all the girls here。
He works （the）hardest at English of the three boys。
②．比较级的形式表示最高意义。
adj/adv比较级+than any other +n（单/复）
Shanghai has a large population than any other city in China。
=Shanghai has the largest population of all the cities in China 。
2．1．3比较级的特殊含义
①．越来越……=比较级+and +比较级
②．越……，越……=the +比较级，the +比较级
③．含more/less than 结构用法比较
no more than=not as…as…与……一样不……
not more than 与……一样不…，……不比……
更……，
例如：He speaks french no more clearly than I do 。
他和我一样说法语不清楚。
He does not speak french more clearly than I do 。
他说法语不比我更清楚。
no more than+数词=only 仅仅，只不过。
not more than+数词=at the most 不超过。
例如：He wrote the essay on reading in no more than 80 words。
他写的关于阅读的论文仅仅八十个字。
Write an article in not more than 80 words 。
写一篇不超过八十字的论文。
no less+adj/adv+than =as…as…与……一样
not less +adj/adv+than 不比……更……例如：
The girl sings no less beautifully than the singer。
这个女孩歌唱得像歌手一样好听。
He is not less quick at figures than I 。
他在计算方面不比我快。
no less than+数词=多达
not less than+数词=至少，不少于例如：
No less than 300 children entered for piano contest。
多达300个孩子参加钢琴比赛。
He offered not less than＄10000 for the vase.
他为花瓶赔至少10万美圆
more than 远不止,不只是
m ore…than…与其说……不如说……例如:
He is more a playwriter than an actor.
Switzerland is more than a place to indulge in all your favorite einter sports ;it is also a marvelous spot to relax.
Would rather…than…宁愿……而不愿……例如:
He would rather die than give up .
★英语中有些形容词本身具有比较意味并由介词to引起比较对象.常见的类似形容词为inferior (较差), superior, junior senior 等.例如:
She is three years junior to my younger sister.。
