Sanmao, formerly known as ChenMaoping(later renamed Chen
Ping), Chinese modern writer, was born in Chongqing in 1943, moved to Taiwan with his parents in 1948. In 1967,she went to Spain, Germany and the United States to study. In 1973, she settled in Western Sahara desert and married Jose . After returning to Taiwan in 1981, she had been a teacher at the University of Culture, and in 1984, she focused on writing and giving speeches.she died in the hospital in January 4, 1991, only forty-eight years old.
