普通差速器,虽然可以 允许左右车轮以不同速 度转动,但当其中一个 车轮空转时,另一个在 良好路面上的车轮也得 不到扭矩,汽车就失去 了行驶的动力。在这种 情况下,差速器不起作 用。这样两个车轮连在 一起,动力至少可以传 递到另一侧车轮,使汽 车得到行驶的动力,从 而摆脱困境。

制动防抱死系统(antilock brake system) 简称ABS。作用就是在汽车制动时,自 动控制制动器制动力的大小,使车轮不 被抱死,处于边滚边滑(滑移率在20% 左右)的状态,以保证车轮与地面的附 着力在最大值。
