Composition One:The Reason I Select the Course English Writing I’m glad that I managed to select the course English writing this semester, since it is popular with many students. I hope and believe that after the course, my English writing skill will go upstairs to a higher level.Firstly, English is widely used in international society. So mastering the skill of writing English Composition is essential for college students. Secondly, as a junior student, according to the schedule, I will attend CET-4 exam, of which writing makes a great part. So I take this course as a preparation for the exam around the corner. Thirdly, for my part, writing in English seems so cool since it’s a combination of vocabulary, grammar and common senses about English culture and reflects the level of competence of the writer.These are the reasons why I select the course English writing. Composition Two:Has the Internet Strengthened or Weakened Human RelationshipAs a result of technology improvement, Internet are playing more and more important roles in people’s lives , leading to the development of globalization. But it deserves much consideration to say whether the Internet has strengthened or weakened human relationship.On one hand, as a powerful information exchanging platform, Internet do bring people from all over the world closer, making the earth just like a small town. With the help communication tools such as e-mail and MSN, anyone who are equipped with devices linked to the Internet can get in touch with people thousands of miles away. Greetings can be extended to friends in a blink of eyes and information can be shared by people from all regions, continents and races. In this sense, Internet does strengthen human relationship.But on the hand, due to the popularity of Internet, many traditional forms of communication such as writing letters have been cast aside, along with their special meaning and distinguishing feature. For example, many parents complain that their children working or studying outside refuse to write to them. For the caring mother and father, letters is a symbol of love and concern for home, which can be replaced by nothing else. In addition, many people get lost in a virtual world by communicating with strangers through the Internet and get hurt physically and mentally. This was also side effect resulting from Internet. In this case, Internet broadens the gap between people’s heart.In a word, it’s hard to get a conclusion whether Internet has strengthened or weakened human relationship. While making the most of convenience Internet has brought to us, we should also remember that some traditional communication methods will never lose its value.Composition three：Be Independent as a College StudentCollege students are supposed to learn to be independent during college life,which will qualify them for society role. However, as a matter of fact, considerable percentage of college students still rely greatly on their parents, which has aroused great public attention.As far as I’m concerned, I think both parents and their children should be responsible for the problem. On one hand, parents should learn to love their children in a sensible way. Offering what children asked for is equal to spoiling them in some sense. They should learn to be “cruel” to children and encourage them to solve difficulties on their own, preparing them better for future life. On the other hand, college students should set strict limits on themselves.By all these methods, students will gain more progress through college life and be a well-prepared builder of our country.Composition Five:Education Reform in My EyesAs a way leading to knowledge and success to individual and a method to cultivate liberal citizen for the country’s prosperity to the government, education, which is supposed to meet society’s need, is attached with great importance. Nowadays, with the development of society, education becomes in urgent need to be reformed.However, as is often the case, reformation easily attracts discussion andargument, since people vary widely towards this problem. Chinese education administration has undertaken a series of measures to improve the education system, aiming to lighten students’burden and make them more creative and energetic. As a college student having gone through thirteen year’s school life, I really appreciate the spirit of the reformation. But problems still remain as to the implement of government’s strategy. Under the pressure for grade and rate of entering a higher school, schools are still extending large amounts of homework to students. So in my opinion, further action and detailed provisions are still needed to make the reformation complete.In a word, I am faithful with our country’s reformation for education, believing that a certain period of time later, it will fit perfectly with China’s development and contribute to its prosperity.Composition Seven：Money is a Good Servant but a Bad MasterThe saying“Money is a good servant but a bad master”reveals the substance and nature of money precisely. It also guides us to take proper attitude toward money wisely.In modern society, money is of great importance to everyone. It brings great convenience to us by making us financially independent. A lack of money can really result in much trouble. By gaining and spending money wisely andhonestly, many people live a happy life. However, despite all the benefits of money, it can be an evil when positioned at a wrong place, as is proved by many examples. Many people attach such great importance to money that they live for nothing else, ending up with nothing but a loss on the true value of life. What’s worse, people who have been taken charge of by money are more likely to yield to the temptation of money, which will lead to crimes easily.To conclude, money can act as either a good servant or a bad master. It depends on what attitude we take towards it.Composition Eight:Health and WealthThe two words spelt and pronounced similarly also have close relation to each other in real life. People vary greatly in attitude towards them.In my opinion, both health and wealth are of great importance while priority should be given to health. Health, referring to a good physical and mental situation, is the most valuable asset of everyone. It’s a fundamental guarantee for an individual to gain further progress. Wealth, standing for one’s ability and wisdom, is often associated with status and reputation. The desire for wealth encourages ambitious young men to work hard and in turn, boost the prosperity of a country. However, on no occasion should wealth take the place of health. Many people who have struggled to be millionaire regret that they haveaccumulated wealth at the expense of destroying their health.In a word, both health and wealth mean much to people, while anything, including wealth, can only be based on good health.Composition Nine:Brain DrainBrain drain, referring to a phenomenon that talented people in developing countries move to work in developed counties, has confused many authority governors in developing countries.Given the background and consequence of this matter, brain drain is really unfair and cruel to developing country suffering from it. They spend high expense to cultivate their brilliant children into outstanding professors out of a desire to accelerate the development of its economy and technology, only to find out what they have done qualify these young genius for admission into developed countries. What a pity! In my opinion, the talented people who drain themselves into foreign countries are to blame. They are excellent in intelligence but poor in moral virtue. They bow to the temptation of comfortable abroad at the expense of betraying their motherland. Government should undertake measures to solve this problem, such as raising the treatment standard of scientists. On the other hand, the talented people should develop their passion and loyalty for their country.I hope, in the future, all talented men will put personal fortune and enjoyment aside and concern on the prosperity of their motherland, and, no developing countries will worry about brain drain.。
