由于年初，美国在访问学者方面出台新政，对访问学者的英语水平进行了政策规定，不过就目前来看，这项规定在美国各校执行的情况不一样，各个学校的政策制定差异极大，以佐治亚理工学院为例，下面就有五种可以满足要求的语言能力证明。

1、An iBT TOEFL or IELTS test score or recognized test using the Cambridge English grading scale which was taken in the last two years.?Test score on the writing, reading, speaking and listening portions must demonstrate a High Beginner level English．
2、Evidence that you earned an academic degree from an institution of higher education that was taught in English.?A transcript from a college or university must be provided. When it is not obvious the language of instruction was English, the scholar must also provide evidence that the language of instruction in the classroom was English．
3、A CV along with a letter from an academic institution who employs you in a teaching or research position or a private industry employer.?The letter must be on official letterhead and states daily work requires a command of spoken and written English．
4、Evidence of successful participation in an Exchange Visitor Program in the U.S. within the last two years.?A letter from the J program supervising faculty member or the Responsible Officer for the program must state that you were successful in daily work which required a command of spoken and written English．
5、A report showing at minimum a High Beginner level English on the Georgia Tech Proficiency Assessment.?When none of the other options can be fulfilled, the GT Language Institute will conduct an assessment and provide the OIE a report．
