The creation of Mickey Mouse
In 1928, Disney developed a new character based on a mouse he adopted as a pet originally named “Mortimer”, then the mouse was later renamed "Mickey" by his wife. Disney created a Mickey cartoon with sound called
Entitled Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the
feature went into full production in 1934. In 1937,to obtain the funding to complete Snow White, Disney had to show a rough cut of the motion picture to loan officers. The film premiered on December 21, 1937 ,being the most successful film of 1938 and earning over $8 million on its initial release. At its conclusion the audience gave it a standing ovation .
