Relationship Between Major and Future JobIt’s a striking fact that there isn’t necesary relationship between one’s major and specific job duties for majority of people. Many people condemn this on outdated education system an some even complain that textbooks are useless. This phenomenon exists for a number of reasons. First of all , it’s a common sense that there alwasys exists a gap between theory and practice. This gap needs to be bridged by continuous exporation of similarities and differences between these two factors and accordingly corresponding modification. Secondly, due to the rapid development of technology, the knowledge from textbooks becomes behind the times soon . And it will lead to the disassociation between what one acquired in college education and what he does at work. From my point of view, when faced with the disassociation, one should adapt himself to working environment as soon as possible by adjusting his own information system. What’s more important, life-long learing is essential to one’s career success. Even after one reached the required levels from college education curriculum, pursuit of knowledge should never be ceased. Last but not the least, we should bear this firmly in mind that one’s ability is valued much more than one’s academic degree.Employment Pressure Facing College Students About a decade ago, university students could find satisfactory and enviable jobs after their graduation. But n ow, things are different. Today’s university students usually experience great difficulties finding satisfactory jobs. They often complain that graduation means joblessness. What is the cause of this phenomenon?Firstly, with the enrollment extension of universities, the supply of university graduates exceeds social demand. This results in a decreased chance for any individual graduate to find a job. Secondly, university students tend to spend most of their time at school in studying academic subjects and lack relevant job experience. Thirdly, some students don’t study hard during the college. After four years of university life, they haven’t gained the knowledge those fairly good jobs or positions require.Facing the increasingly fierce competition, we university students should try our bests to change this situation. Above all, when in school, we should make the most of our time and put our heart into our studies. What’s more, we can take part-time jobs and attend social activities in our spare time to accumulate relevant practical experience. [3]Besides, when we apply for jobs after graduation, we should attach more importance to accumulating experience than to the starting salary. The Moonlight ClanNowadays, more and more people, especially the young are joining in the army of “the moonlight clan”. These people exhaust their earnings every month without any savings. Many people think this is a fashionable life style, while more other people object to this kind of consumption style. Those who support “the moonlight clan”think that those people know how to enjoy life and have a higher life quality. However, more other people criticize “the moonlight clan”. They say that the consumption habit of “the moonlight clan”is unhealthy and sometimes wasteful. In addition, no savings will place “the moonlight clan” in a difficult position in case of unexpected expenses.Weighing these two arguments, I prefer to the latter one. In my eyes, though “the moonlight clan”may acquire temporary satisfaction from their consumption, in the long term, it is unfavorable to their family and career. Just as a proverb says, one should always prepare for a rainy day.College Graduates Work as Village Officials There is no denying the fact that it is a hotly debated topic today how college graduates should choose their careers. Some time ago, it was reported that some college graduates chose to work as village officials. To this people’s attitudes differ sharply. Some hold the positive view while others are against it. As far as I am concerned, I believe that it is a wise choice. On the one hand, college graduates can contribute a lot to the development of the countryside. First, they can apply their professional knowledge there. Secondly, they can introduce new concepts to the countryside and speed the development of rural culture. As a result, the gap between the city and the countryside can well be bridged. On the other hand, these graduates can benefit a lot from working as village officials. While too many college graduates are fighting for the handful of positions in big cities, these graduates can find themselves a wider stage of development and realize their value. Therefore, college graduates working as village officials is a win-win choice and more graduates should be encouraged to work in the countryside.Starting Career in a Big City or Small Town?Want to be a small fish in a big pond or the other way round? Every graduate faces this question when starting his career. A large number of college graduatesprefer to stay in big cities, which mean more experiences, more opportunities to see the big world and more space for career development. At the same time, higher salary is another temptation。
